Fiber laser cutting is a non-contact processing with controllable high-energy density. The machine focuses the laser beam into a spot with whose minimum diameter less than 0.1mm, makes the power density at the focus exceeds 107W ~ 108W / cm2. The irradiated material is heated to the vaporization temperature and evaporates to form small holes. As the linearly movement of the beam that relative to the material, the small holes connect to form a cutting edge with width about 0.1 mm. The cutting also works with auxiliary gas during the cutting to accelerate the melting of materials, and blowing away the slag or preventing the materials oxidizing.
