Laser safety level overview:
In order to get an easy identification the danger level of laser products, we classify the laser products according to the body tissue damage degree to human-caused by laser products.
The wavelength and power of the laser product determine the damage degree to the human body. Wavelength determines the different absorption of human tissues and the mechanism harms, the power and energy determine the degree of laser hazards. International Electrotechnical Commission divided the laser products into several safety levels according to the wavelength and maximum output power or energy, the user must correctly understand this knowledge and know how to avoid the damages.
Laser Safety Level Classification Details:
International Electrotechnical Commission standard (IEC 60825-1) and divided the laser products into the following seven grades according to the wavelength of the laser and the maximum output laser power of laser machine: 1,1M, 2,2M, 3R, 3B, 4.
The products with grades 1M and 2M have same safety level with grade 1 and 2, but in the use of telescopes and other optical equipment, the danger of these degrees may be enlarged more than that of degree 1 and 2. Level 3 is also divided into 3R and 3B two sub-levels.
